Professional stainless steel Selma splicing fids

As a professional Rigger I want neat, tight, quick splicing and this is the make that I use.
With the polished stainless finish it goes through rope outer casings etc with relative ease.
 
What size do I need?
 
The fid size that is listed is the width of the inside of the fid.

We recommend that you buy a fid size that is the same measurement of the inner core of the rope you are splicing (not the overall width).
If there is not a fid that exact size, then go slightly smaller rather than bigger, (or as close as you can) as the rope should still squeeze in.

Rule of thumb is that the fid will have to fit inside the outer casing, so if possible measure the inner core, and occasionally spray your fids with dry silicone to keep them nice and slippery.
