Rigging and Halyards
All halyards, standing rigging and wire strops are made from 316 marine grade stainless steel wire provided by Blue Wave - the top choice for quality wire. We supply 3mm or 2.5mm wire, which is perfect for most dinghies. To buy customised rigging from us, please see the guide below and give us your measurements using the form at the bottom of the page. If you're not confident to measure, simply remove and send us your old rigging and we can copy the length and fittings. If you have any problems or questions, feel free to email us: kbr.sailing@gmail.com
How to measure standing rigging
For standing rigging, we need the entire measurement of the wire including the end fittings and any loops. This is demonstrated in the pictures below with various end fittings. Ideally, all of your measurements should be given to us in milimetres.

Examples above of the measurement that we need: the entire length of the wire plus the end fitting.

For rigging with loops that go over the mast such as Mirror dinghies, please provide the entire length of the wire including the loops. We line the loops with a strong plastic covering to reduce wear on the mast.
How to measure halyards
For halyards, we need two measurements. The key measurement (A) is the entire length of the wire. The loop measurement (B) would be adjusted to your preference to stop the copper ferrule from landing in an awkward position once hoisted, such as right on a sleeve wheel.

The most important measurement is the A measurement
How to measure wire strops
Wire strops are made in 2.5mm and 3mm and in the stiff 1x19 and softer 7x19 wires to your spec.

Please measure from each end of the wire including fittings.
